Displaying the Popup Menus

Various commands to control the Desk View and manage windows on the desktop are available via the popup menus.

To display the The Desk View Popup Menu:
Using gestures
Press and hold within the Desk View and between the mini windows.
Using the mouse
Click the right mouse button within the Desk View and between the mini windows.
Using the keyboard
Select the Desk View using the keyboard; as mentioned under the heading 'Selecting Elements of the Desk View using the Keyboard'. With the Desk View selected, press the applications key, or SHIFT + F10, to display the The Desk View Popup Menu.

To display the The Mini Windows Popup Menu:
Using gestures
Press and hold within a mini window.
Using the mouse
Click the right mouse button within a mini window.
Using the keyboard
Select a mini window using the keyboard; as mentioned under the heading 'Selecting Elements of the Desk View using the Keyboard'. With a mini window selected, press the applications key, or SHIFT + F10, to display the The Mini Windows Popup Menu.

Moving or Sizing the Mini Windows

By moving or sizing the mini windows, the position of their corresponding windows on the desktop can be changed. The sizing operation is not available for windows that do not have a sizing border.

To move a mini window:
Using gestures
Press within the borders of a mini window. Then drag the mini window to its new location.
Using the mouse
Click and hold down the left mouse button within the borders of a mini window. Then drag the mini window to its new location.
Using the keyboard
Select a mini window using the keyboard; as mentioned under the heading 'Selecting Elements of the Desk View using the Keyboard'. With a mini window selected, press the applications key, or SHIFT + F10, to display the The Mini Windows Popup Menu. Then press the 'm' button, or select the 'Move' menu item. You can now use the arrow keys to move the mini window to another location.

To size a mini window:
Using gestures
Press on one of the borders, or corners, of a mini window. Then drag the border, or corner, to its new location.
Using the mouse
Click and hold down the left mouse button on one of the borders, or corners, of a mini window. Then drag the border, or corner, to its new location.
Using the keyboard
Select a mini window using the keyboard; as mentioned under the heading 'Selecting Elements of the Desk View using the Keyboard'. With a mini window selected, press the applications key, or SHIFT + F10, to display the The Mini Windows Popup Menu. Then press the 's' button, or select the 'Size' menu item. You can now use the arrow keys to size the mini window.

Activating a Window on the Desktop using its Corresponding mini window

To activate a Window on the desktop using its corresponding mini window:
Using gestures
Double tap within the borders of a mini window.
Using the mouse
Double click the left mouse button within the borders of a mini window.
Using the keyboard
Select a mini window using the keyboard; as mentioned under the heading 'Selecting Elements of the Desk View using the Keyboard'. With a mini window selected, press the applications key, or SHIFT + F10, to display the The Mini Windows Popup Menu. Then press the 'c' button, or select the 'Activate' menu item.

Maximizing a Window on the Desktop using its Corresponding mini window

To maximize a Window on the desktop using its corresponding mini window:
Using gestures
Double tap one of the borders, or titlebar, of a mini window.
Using the mouse
Double click one of the borders, or titlebar, of a mini window with the left mouse button.
Using the keyboard
Select a mini window using the keyboard; as mentioned under the heading 'Selecting Elements of the Desk View using the Keyboard'. With a mini window selected, press the applications key, or SHIFT + F10, to display the The Mini Windows Popup Menu. Then press the 'x' button, or select the 'Maximize' menu item.

Note that minimized and maximized windows are not shown on the Desk View.

Selecting Elements of the Desk View using the Keyboard

With the DeskScope application window in the foreground, use the TAB key to select the Desk View. With the Desk View selected, it is possible to use the up and down arrow keys to switch the keyboard focus between the Desk View and any of the mini windows currently displayed on the Desk View. The applications key, or SHIFT + F10, can then be pressed to display the relevant popup menu.

Dragging and Dropping Operations

Br dragging a file to and hovering it over a mini window, it's corresponding window on the desktop is brought to the top.

Mini Windows Drawn with Diagonal Hatch Lines

There is limited interaction with mini windows drawn with diagonal hatch lines; for instance, they cannot be moved or sized. Mini windows for sandboxed applications, and other applications, may be drawn like this.
